Senior Electrodes and Needle Coke Technical and Market Specialist

Roger has been consulting advisor on electrodes and needle coke for Metal Strategies since 2007. From 2002 to 2007, Roger was VP (Engineering) Great Lakes Graphite Corp., reporting to the Director of Technology.

  • Corporate responsibilities involved complete product and process design for all speciality and electrode products (North America)
  • Interaction with the European organization was significant
  • Responsibilities also focused upon cost reduction and improved quality where he designed carbon graphite plant for the production of electrodes, pin-stock and extruded specialty mold artifacts, complete with budget and mass flow.

From 1983 to 2002, Roger was Senior Product Engineer (Combined Technical Superintendent responsibilities, Niagara Plant) for SGL Carbon, one of the world’s two dominant electrode manufacturers, reporting to the Director of Technology. Mr. Greinert holds Bachelor Degree Mathematics/Economics (Double Major) with Minor Chemistry from State University of New York at Buffalo.
