T. Grant John, Ph. D.
Dr.
He
began his career in 1966 at the former Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. now
know as LTV Steel. He became president of Ingersoll Steel Co. in 1977,
a unit of Axel Johnson Inc., where he later became group vice president
metals. Later, John headed the North American activities of Avesta
Inc., an affiliate of Avesta Sheffield AB.
He
subsequently served as president and chief operating officer of Washington
Steel Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lukens, Inc. John was also a
senior vice president of Lukens, Inc., responsible for Lukens’ commercial
and strategic activities up to its’ merger with Bethlehem Steel in 1998.
Dr.
John’s particular strengths are in nickel alloys, stainless steels, carbon and
alloy steels and titanium. We provide unique expertise to the investment
community, to domestic and offshore metals producers, and to distributors,
processors and end users. He also provides expertise in restructuring,
cost reduction, mergers and acquisitions and investment advice. In the
appropriate situations he can be assigned to provide interim management
services. He has also represented both offshore and domestic producers of
wrought and forged products and raw materials. His detailed knowledge of the
special metals industry and relationships with industry principals uniquely
qualify Metal Strategies to effectively introduce our client’s products into
these markets.
